5. BLOCK IN THE TREE LINE
Use the small background brush to base in the distant trees. The tree line is Paynes Gray + Alizarin Crimson + Titanium White. Be sure this mixture is darker than the mountain’s basecoat. Use bouncy strokes that sweep to the side and keep the paint on the top of the bristles. Switch to the small detail flat brush when painting around the buildings.
6. HIGHLIGHT TREE LINE
Highlight the tree line with the small background brush. Mix Brilliant Yellow Light + Cadmium Yellow Medium + Titanium White + a touch of French Ultramarine Blue. Keep the paint on the corner of the brush. Try to make the trees lighter on their left sides because the light is coming from the left.
