CALL TO A FAMILY MEMBER

KATHY: Hello, this is Kathy.

GINA: It’s your cousin Gina. How are you?

KATHY: Fine, fine. I got your real estate announcement. What great news! Congratulations! I heard that the Mosers asked you to help them sell their house.

GINA: They did. I listed it and sold it quickly.

KATHY: Wow! You must love what you’re doing.

GINA: Yes, I really like real estate. It felt so good to be able to help the Mosers. Remember when we were kids and Mrs. Moser used to give us Hershey’s Kisses when we would visit them? Well, she still had a big bowl of them sitting on that same round table in their entryway. Some things never change.

KATHY: That’s funny, I hadn’t thought about that in a long time. Did she insist you have some?

GINA: Of course. She offered and I took one for old time’s sake. But when I was there, I was focused on getting them the best price for their home and doing a good job. It was really different looking at the house as a professional real estate agent.

COMMENTARY: It’s important that friends and especially family members see you as a professional real estate agent, because they may have a different image of you. Direct them to the person you are today.
